The SAC exposition (Sec 7) has changes that have revised your renewal requirements. (View) Instructor Ratings! A friendly reminder to all our instructors out there of your requirements with regards to renewing your qualification. Unlike normal pilots who have a BFR every 24 months with a SAC Instructor or ATO; you need an annual check (to make this easy we give you a free month!!!) and this must be with an ATO, not just any instructor. Regrettably we have had to write to some instructors to tell them the unfortunate news they need to re-sit their flight tests because they haven't been done with an ATO. To our ATOs: you get 24 months but remember other instructors you sign off only get 13 months Friendly reminder! It's been over 5 years since Personal Locator Beacons became a requirement in microlights operating 10nm from base: Has your battery expired? (How many other things do you have with a battery life over 5 years?) When you registered the beacon, what contact details did you give? If you can't answer these questions follow this link!
